If you are not a digital nomad yet and would love to become one, there are several action steps that you need to consider before jumping into it.
The first step is to consider if this lifestyle will work for you. Let's take a closer look at it.

I noticed that young people have some assumptions about digital nomad work and prioritizing money over life quality balance that a digital nomad lifestyle can bring them.
Some people go into business to make money and make as much money as possible.
Those same people can easily end up stressed, overwhelmed, and burned out, living in a hamster wheel of chasing money. After while they find themselves lost and exhausted in never - ending story of chasing money.
Why?
Because their priority was money, not a sustainable lifestyle supported by money income.
If you choose a digital nomad way of living, look for a life quality balance and opportunities that you would never gain while sitting in the office from 9-5.
"If you choose, a digital nomad way of living,
it's important to remember that money and business are simply tools to enable and support your desired lifestyle."

Does it make sense?
At this stage of your research look at your desired outcome. What do you want out of your experience?
To be able to travel uninterrupted for a few weeks?
To be able to work in short bursts and then take time away?
To be able to go off the grid for several months?
To work a couple of hours per day, but every day?
Obviously, as digital nomads, we want to build a business that we can deliver and operate completely remotely, but the choice is entirely your decision.

Let's be clear here. Skills do not necessarily mean qualifications or a college title. We all know that.
A skill is
any ability or talent
you have,
or anything
you’ve successfully
completed or
overcome
in the past.

There are all kinds of skills that you have, here are some examples:
If you’ve managed to lose 40 lbs with a healthy diet and exercise plan, you can help others.
If you’ve figured out the best route for a solo traveler to experience South America, then you can guide others.
If you’ve built an amazing long-term romantic relationship with your significant other, you can help others do the same.
If you have successfully overcome money debt, you can teach others how to do it.
If you can speak a language, you can gain an appropriate certificate and teach others online.
Also think of..What are your personality traits?
Think of things like communicating, organizing, simplifying or explaining things, decluttering, mediating, problem-solving, etc.
These are all valuable life skills.
I know a coach that makes multiple 6 figures online, helping people declutter their homes.
What is the strong side of your personal or professional skills?
I would suggest you take time, don't push yourself, give yourself a few days if you are not sure, or ask someone who is close to you..how they see your pros and talents.

In the fast-paced world of remote work, your social media presence is often the first impression you make on potential clients and employers. Optimizing your profiles and actively showcasing your skills can set you apart in a crowded digital marketplace. By strategically sharing your expertise, projects, and insights, you not only build credibility but also expand your network, opening doors to exciting digital nomad opportunities worldwide.
A free tip from a branding professional,
learn from the following example:
1 – “I’m a photographer with 10 years of experience. I do weddings, baby photos, school photos, architectural photos, professional photos, and headshots, and passport photos. I have a drone too and can do great landscape shots.”
2– “I’m an experienced photographer, specializing in action shots for online influencers. Here’s a link to my portfolio”.
You’re going to go with number 2. Right?
Why?
Because they speak directly to you and your situation!
Photographer number 1 might have had way more experience, better equipment, and produced better results for you, but it’s irrelevant – you’ll pick the person that speak to your needs.
Golden rule: When you try to reach everyone, you end up reaching to no one. Learn to speak directly to your client's needs.
Once you've set up your profile, apply for jobs matching your skills and expertise. You may first want to take on a few lower-paying jobs to build your reputation on the platform. As you build your reputation, you can command higher prices for your services.

Offering coaching services is another way to earn money by providing a solution to a problem. This can be your other income stream, as coaching fees are usually higher than freelance fees.
By strategically sharing your expertise, projects, and insights, you not only build credibility but also expand your network, opening doors to exciting digital nomad opportunities worldwide.
Boosting your expertise by publishing short e-books can provide you with a recurring monthly income and the status of a dedicated and passionate expert.
Take it as a focused process of organizing your knowledge and crafting clear, engaging content that actually helps you develop discipline and precision. As you revise and refine your work, you become more adept at spotting inconsistencies, improving flow, and enhancing clarity, all of which elevate your overall communication abilities.
Besides that, it also sharpens your writing and editing skills, which is a valuable experience on your way to online business freedom.
7. FIGURE OUT YOUR FINANCES AND TAXES

Take care of your finances.
Do you have enough to sustain your lifestyle for 3 months? Do you have investments tied to your home country? Do you need to sell off some assets?
Don´t forget to figure out your tax situation.
The borderless nature of a digital nomad makes it sometimes difficult to understand tax residency. You might need to pay taxes both in your host country and your home country, meaning that there is a possibility that you will be taxed twice.
A good option is to pay taxes in your home country as a resident and travel as a digital nomad to other countries once you have figured out your online business income that supports your lifestyle.
It may take some time and money for these preparations, but if it means living your dream life then it’s worth every penny spent and more.

I see many unexperienced digital nomads scratching their heads with tax residency, crypto portfolio investments, or healthcare when something serious happens to them. You know..life happens. Being clever counts, being smart with knowledge is even better.
I lived in a few EU and non-EU countries, I lived in South America, and this is what matters to me.
Street security, so I do not have to turn my head all the time when I am out, affordable healthcare at your fingertips, work-life balance, accessibility to other countries. Perhaps invigorating nature, places that talk history, small friendly cafés to observe a life rhythm, digital nomads hubs, and food culture are on the top of my list.
Tax-friendly system is a whole chapter where I see young digital nomads to get lost, or kind of messed up with wrong advice they were given.
Using my life experience, I created two service packages for you to choose from. If you need to set up your inner GPS correctly. Find them here.
