I remember well, when a clinician said, with clinical calm, that my mobility would narrow and a wheelchair would be inevitable. It was not the first time and not the last one. The room felt colder after that sentence, as if someone had closed a window on possibility. I already had a different childhood than many of you, my childhood slipped between my fingers like a sand of regime, routines, physical exercising, rehabilitations, and now they want to take my future?

No! No way!

Instead of folding into that forecast, I chose courage and resilience. I took responsibility for my own health, I submitted a 3-months leaving notice at University Hospital where I worked at the time, I packed a backpack, bought a one‑way ticket to London, without actually speaking English and learned to be an architect of my own life trajectory. It was over 22 years ago.

Since then, I experienced life, cultures, travels in many different ways. Not all of them were amazing, but that is life. Take it or leave it.

Nowadays I work online, I run 2 websites, I talk, I coach, I speak, I write, I share my story of a physically handicapped person who was not afraid to build a life despite a predicted medical fate that is still hanging there like a Damocles sword.
